Tell us what has helped you manage problems related to your illness.  We especially wish to hear about how you accessed thoughts, emotions, faith, or supportive relationships to reduce stress, improve coping and make positive changes that improved your quality of life.  (Endorsements of medications or other treatments would not be helpful in this context.)

 

Some of the issues you can write about that are typical of chronic or life-threatening illness include:

  • fear, worry
  • frustration, anger
  • having to depend upon others
  • friends pulling away
  • scheduling life around medical appointments
  • discouragement, depression
  • feeling that life is out of control
  • people treating you differently
  • new relationships with health providers
  • effects of illness on family

           We will report some of these stories in the “Wellness Files” page from time to time, in the hope that the success of those who write can be helpful to others.
